Sixty-two Years Strong

May 27, 2011
Happy Birthday to Me!!!
I love birthdays, I know most women don't want their ages known, but I am thankful for every year. And hope to celebrate many more years.

Tom and I
He got me the cake, photo printer (for scrapbooking), and a gift certificate for a pedicure.
Daniel, Ashley,Caleb and Chloe came to dinner with us to celebrate. I received a Birthday Card and a gift certificate for a Facial. As you can tell I am very blessed and spoiled. As it should be:) I had a great time. Thanks for the laughter and good memories. Love ya!!!

On a sad note, we lost our Grand-Dog, Daisy. She was a sweetheart and brought Tom and I a lot of joy over the years. Old girl you will be missed.

Fitzwater Station

Fitzwater Cafe
This is Mike and Sharon Fitzwater, they were visiting Philadelphia a few days back and found some interesting places.

Thomas Fitzwater Elementary School

and

Fitzwater Station

A Thomas Fitzwater was with William Penn (the founding father of Pennsylvania) on the ship "Welcome". Guess he became a historical character in the Philadelphia area himself.
Don't know for sure if they were related to us.
Thanks to Mike and Sharon for these pictures.

Key West Day 5

Today is the last day of our vacation, it has been a lot of fun and relaxing.

Spent the morning down on the pier, where all the charter boats, fishing boats, and sailboats anchor.

After a walk around the harbor, we stopped in for a piece of Key Lime Pie.
I will miss this, but not the calories!!!!

Key West Day 4

Let's take a tour of some of the homes around the island. They are over a 100 years-old. Some were built here and others built in the Bahamas and brought to Key West and put together.

Some of the homes have been turned into bed and breakfast and others have become shops.

Southernmost Point, 90 miles from Cuba.

Higgs Beach

Poincana trees are in bloom this time of year and are beautiful.

And you know, I always make a few friends along the way. This is Mr. Sponge Man, but I am still looking for Capt. Jack Sparrow.

And the Sunset Celebration continues.

Key West Day 3

Morning from Key West. Let's look first at some critters of the area...

And then, there was the real thing....

Of course, it didn't stop there, we went to Sloppy Joe's for lunch, Hemingway's favorite saloon.

I did say this was about critters, well I am a Texas girl, so this should not surprise you next on the list is...

We were sitting having our lunch by the open door and looked up and saw this horse right beside me.  Only in Key West!!!
added this picture, so you would know he was real.

This is the pool, area and Tom
..

He has really loved the whirlpool, I have spared you pictures of me in my bathing suit. Say thank you. Ha! Ha!

Another Sunset Celebration, this is a picture of the Jolly Roger setting sail for the evening.

Key West Day 2

Day 2 was all about relaxation and eating.

Best lemonade on the island!!

Conch Shell

Conch Fritters, now I'm not so sure what a conch is but it tastes really good. And I really don't want to know what they look like. Ha! Ha!

Fruit Plate

Roof Top Cafe

Pasta Basilico, fresh pasta with a sauce made from
plum tomatoes, fresh basil and garlic, tossed in olive oil.  This was so simple and so good.

Of course, another beautiful Sunset.
